9. Where can I find information about the Queen's illnesses? Any good biography on the Queen will mention her physical ailments. Her most serious illness was her attack of the small pox in 1562, and in the late 1560's early 1570's she suffered from an ulcer on her leg that gave her considerable discomfort for several years. Books that deal especially with her illnesses are few. I have come across two, but both were written a long time ago, and medical knowledge has advaced since then.
