6. How did Robert Dudley, Earl of Leicester, die?

He died of natural causes in 1588, just weeks after the defeat of the Spanish Armada. He had been unwell for some time, and may have been suffering from a form of cancer, possibly stomach cancer. He died at Cornbury, while on a journey to take the healing waters at Buxton. He is buried in the Beauchamp Chapel of St Mary's Church, Warwick.
